My dog Pata (or more correctly, my husband's dog) has a squeaky toy in the shape of a cartoon-esque bug with bulging eyes. The squeaker is in the head (i.e. where the eyes are) so it took her a while to figure out where it was (her last toy had the squeaker in the middle of the body), particularly with the bulging eyes making the head harder to hold in her mouth. But when she gets it going, it cracks me up every time. She'll squeak it for like 30 seconds straight.
Dogs are extremely entertaining. In warmer weather she'll be lying on the floor, and roll over onto her back so all 4 legs are curled in the air with her belly exposed (it's cooler that way, apparently) and her head cocked to one side. I've been trying to get a picture, but if I get up off the couch to get my camera, she'll just get up and follow me. So I don't have any spontaneous pictures, but I'm working on getting a shot of that pose, because it's so stinkin' funny.
Then there's Morty, the Husky next door, that doesn't bark or howl... he yowls. It sounds like something's dying, or sometimes like he's trying to talk. Pata sometimes talks back. And while some people might find it annoying, I just think it's funny (mostly because he's quiet early in the mornings or at night when we're trying to fall asleep, probably because he only does it when he's lonely during the day).
Aren't dogs fun? :-) I'm trying to talk K into getting one of the retriever-poodle mix dogs (the "doodles"), because he likes labs (for their temperament), and I prefer the non-shedding hypoallergenic-ness of poodle type dogs (definitely not poodles, though).
