There's nothing in the world like spending time with my husband. It was a nice weekend last weekend.
We found this great deal through OCTA where you take the bus to the OC Fair for $3 round trip (pickup/drop-off at a park n' ride), and they give you a coupon to get into the fair for $2. Talk about amazing! It made it that much more enjoyable knowing that we didn't spend a ton of money to be there to walk around (we don't generally do much at the fair). It's all about the quality time. We laughed a lot, ate greasy burgers and kettle corn (addicting!! and expensive), watched a family of siblings perform blue grass music, froze through the ice sculpture freezer, and talked about nothing and everything. The weather was perfect, although Kevin got a little sunburned on the back of the neck.
We watched some Dr.Who, cuddled on the couch, made some really good smoothies, had Sunday lunch at Freebirds. We opted for a Sunday evening bike ride instead of our usual Saturday (since we went to the fair, and wanted to avoid the heat at other times of the day). It was an interesting time of day... there are a ton more bugs out, and they kept hitting us in the face as we zoomed through the clusters of them. There are also more "questionable" people out on the bike trail (the ones lighting one up under the bridges). But I got a great sunset picture.
I definitely ended the weekend with a full "love tank" (if you don't know what I'm talking about, read "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman). There wasn't anything particularly special about our time together, but the key is that it was time together. It always makes it that much harder to get through the week during which we spend less time together (once the tank is full, I like to keep topping it off). But it leaves me with good memories. :-)
