Howdy!
For those of you just joining, I set a series of goals that I want to finish/accomplish by the end of 2012 (Finish Year). Here's my status update #2 (if you missed the first update, here it is).
The big news of the year is that I am pregnant, due November 4! This will have some impact on my goals.
1. I've failed miserably on the walking 3x a week. No excuse other than laziness (and some excessive tiredness during the first trimester). I'm just starting the second trimester now, so I should have a bit more energy to get my lazy butt off the chair and out the door (and the weather has been really nice).
2. Well, exercise other than walking has completely fallen off the grid, and as I get bigger, this will get more difficult. I will try to keep this going (planning on a pre-natal yoga class at some point), but exercise while pregnant is tricky, and I'm paranoid about making sure I don't do something to harm baby (affectionately known as "Blob").
3. This goal gets completely thrown out the window, since losing 15 lbs while pregnant is a VERY BAD IDEA. ;-) I guess it can still stay on as a "maintain" goal and stay within the window of what is acceptable/normal during pregnancy.
4. Running is out until December. :-) Which means no 5k's (I'll be within a week of my due date for the LA Cancer Challenge, and since I'm not a runner to start with, not a good idea, and the Zombie run is definitely out because obstacles are a no-go for prego's).
5. Been lacking on the fresh produce lately, but hopefully getting that going again soon. Probably not riding bikes to the farmer's market anymore (at least, I'm not), but I can still go.
6. The Mac arrived early due to an unexpected windfall! Been making a little progress on my story, but I need to pick up the pace if I want to wrap it up by the end of the year. I've only got about 6 pages written thus far.
7. I'm sticking with reading as a hobby for now. I really enjoy techie/media stuff, but there's not much opportunity/time to develop that as a hobby. I could see myself having a good time on a regular media team as a job (not just volunteering with the high school youth group), but I just don't have the skills, experience, or hardware to make full-time employment out of it. Something to file away for future thought.
8. Did a minor sort a couple weeks ago, so little by little making headway. It's really the work of about an hour or two, so there's no good reason not to have it emptied sooner rather than later.
So.... I'm not so good at keeping the goals. And you're not so good at keeping me accountable (although that's no excuse on my part). But there's still time to finish strong! I'd appreciate your prayers and encouragement through the rest of this year as I focus on being healthy, prepping for baby, and being faithful to the goals I've set.
